Eddings.

Sad to hear about David Edding's passing. He and his wife may have written the same series 4 or 5 times, but I still read them all. A guilty pleasure I suppose, but still fun.

Silk remains one of my favourite fictional characters.

He and his wife may have written the same series 4 or 5 times,

It's totally true.
And almost all his main characters were affected with a greater-than-thou complex. /sigh

And all his villains were inevitably incompetent and almost completely evil. /sigh

But it was a good initial read, and I admit to being a bit sad.

That is sad. :( I was amused while reading the same story the second time how they kept going on about deja vu and the same things happening again. Haha. Silk was awesome.

Eddings was one of my first introductions to "adult" fantasy outside of Tolkien when I was a young teen (ie not Alice in Wonderland or Narnia). I very much enjoyed the first few series and even got a kick out of comparing various characters. I still re-read them every few years.

I was sad to hear of David's passing, and then felt awful when I read that Leigh had passed away as well and I had no idea....

I stopped after the first series, but Silk was one of my faves too.
