Been cursing the lack of decent RPGs coming out for a while.

And now all that's changing.

Me: Ok, I'm gonna get White Knight Chronicles in February, and FF13 in March.

Mass Effect 2: You sure you don't want to buy me as well?

Me: Nah, I'm ok. I liked the first one. but I'm in no hurry.

Mass Effect 2: You suuuure? *plays tantalizing trailer videos*

Me: Dammit! I really /did/ like the first one! Gimme!

Mass Effect 2: pwned.

Me: Ok, that's three games over the next three months or so. 100 hours for White Knight Chronicles. About the same for FF13 I bet... ME2 is good for what...50? Where would I find time for these.

Star Ocean - The Last Hope: Hi there. I launch in Feb too.

Gonna have to do some prioritizing of games here.

Console RPGs: when it rains, it pours.

Heavy Rain: Speaking of rain...

This was most entertaining to read

Star Trek Online: Psssst.....

Me: *whimpers* STO does intrigue me too.

Owen's doing the beta currently. Opinions will be forthcoming soon.

What you need is a magic 8 ball and your monies, the rest will take care of itself

Excellent. I'm holding off on STO until its gold, and until I hear from some people (owen included).

I think I have a plan. ME2, White Knight Chronicles, FF13. I'm putting Star Ocean and Heavy Rain on the "I'll buy/play these after" list.

I'm pretty sure we'll be acquiring FF due to the glazed look that came over Owen when he initially watched a commercial for it.

I'm still dabbling in L4D2 but babby is still in gamer training so I am fairly busy with that.

She can walk Mario around now. Next we work on running (and not slamming the nunchuk and controller together).

Damn! Good on the young future gold farmer! (Really put her to work!)

We should play some L4D2 when said babby allows.

And yeah. FF looks..well... I may need a moment.

Or two.

this week I'll be playing in the evening, after 730 or so. i'll give you a shout when I'm on.

Here's some tidbits for you, though they leave off Warhammer 40K: Space Marine from the list as well as several notables from prior comments.

This is going to be an expensive year.

The voices in your head have names now ;)
Jan. 12th, 2010 11:30 pm (UTC)
have you even played Arkham Asylum yet?
Jan. 12th, 2010 11:31 pm (UTC)
Not yet. Waiting to see it on sale someplace before I pick it up. Soon as I do, I'll be grabbing it.
Jan. 12th, 2010 11:34 pm (UTC)
!!!! it outranks at least 3 of the games on your list in terms of sheer awesomeness. We both know a Final Fantasy game hasn't been good since 6, 7, or 9 :P
Jan. 12th, 2010 11:45 pm (UTC)
Hey, I liked 8. And 10. And 11. 10-2 and 12 should have been burned though (with a few exceptions in each)

I'll be getting it eventually! The batman simulator is still on my list!

Owen played the demo and said it was awesome

but we're also waiting for a sale

Dragon Age: Awakening, plus more DA: DLC.

Yes, I'm one of Bioware's bitches, why do you ask?
Jan. 13th, 2010 04:23 am (UTC)
Dragon Age is unbelievable.
Jan. 13th, 2010 04:33 am (UTC)
I keep hearing that. Its definitelty on my list too.
Jan. 13th, 2010 05:04 am (UTC)
See, I'm stuck with a PS2... so I don't GET to play all the nifty new RPG's out.
But I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who's noticed the severe decline in decent RPG's. :(
Jan. 13th, 2010 04:26 pm (UTC)
Unfortunatly, FF13 isn't an RPG this time.
It's a video novel.

Seriously, everything that made Final Fantasy an RPG has been removed. The world doesn't open up until the end, and you can't backtrack, most of your shopping is done at save points, and you pretty much button mash from one FMV to the next.

And yet it still is breaking sales records.

I think the points you make are good ones, but I think a lot of people, myself included, will probably pick it up anyway. If I can live through the drek that was 10-2, I can live through almost anything.
Jan. 13th, 2010 10:29 pm (UTC)
Exactly. It's the name of Final Fantasy that sells the copies, and the glorious graphics. And sometimes the story.

I will be getting it also despite the non-RPG of this RPG. XD
Jan. 14th, 2010 03:44 am (UTC)
I am so f'n jazzed for Heavy Rain.
Jan. 15th, 2010 04:23 pm (UTC)
I didn't think Arkham Asylum was all that honestly
also forgot about Starcraft, hahaha the irony

we've already had this talk before, so...
Come January 26 (only 11 days!) I guess we'll both be busy exploring the galaxy
